THE CONNECTION CURE
The Connection Cure is a cross-country human engagement project that explores face-to-face connection as a catalyst for healing and wellness. Traveling to every state in the U.S, we host workshops that ignite the spirit, create conversation around the body, and aim to de-stigmatize loneliness in our increasingly disconnected society. It is an invitation to put down the phone, turn off the devices, and step back into humanity, alive, awake, and connected.
In July of 2017, I set out on a pilgrimage that is taking me across the U.S in hopes of sparking a ripple-effect of connection.
Over the span of four years I will attempt to visit every state, engaging in “micro-moments” with strangers and offering workshops and discussions around the science of loneliness and human connection.
We’ve never needed connection more than we do right now. Our country is polarized and disconnected, which breeds misunderstanding, and isolation. This disconnect is also making us sick, literally – over 60 million Americans feel so isolated, their health is damaged in ways that mirror the effects of high blood pressure, smoking and obesity.
We all get lonely. But admitting you’re lonely feels taboo. I’m on a mission to confront that taboo, and to talk openly about loneliness and disconnect. Why? Because connection is healing. When we engage, when we hear one another, we are gifting that person an immunity boost, quite literally.
What is the Connection Cure Tour?
It’s a hypothesis, really:

1. If more people learn about how connection changes our bodies, and begin to connect more – with friends, with family, with total strangers – can we help heal ourselves and start to heal our country?
2. And, more personally, can I help heal my own body by engaging in micro-moments of connection and deeper engagement with life?

The science says it all - when we share a positive emotion with someone it spikes our DHEA levels, lowers cortisol, and boosts our immune system. Having a genuine moment of connection with someone (even a stranger) is scientifically proven to change our bodies biochemistry. So, I am testing out this theory on my body, teaching the science behind human interaction, and listening to YOUR stories across America.
